Explore Swanage
Alan has tried to make Swanage as welcoming as possible to all of the Swans in the flock during their stay. The water in the house is gas heated to ensure that there is always warm water for showering and bathing especially as electrical outages are very common in recent years. There is also backup power supply to run the basic necessities. We have installed bore-hole water to cater for drought and water restrictions that are imposed. The country is a water-constrained.
There is also ample parking for up to 10 cars on the property. Fibre Broadband Uncapped is inclusive.
Private Rooms and the Cygnet
Swanage offers space for nine: four two-bed and one single room. Although each has its own charm, guests can expect built-in wardrobes, Egyptian cotton bedsheets, and either an electric blanket or heater (for those colder winter nights). Please contact us for rates which change on a yearly basis. There is a 10% reduction for those who wish to share the double rooms.
The Cygnet – ideal for those who wish to have a more private stay is a 56 sqm cottage in the Swanage garden consisting of a large twin room with built – in cupboards. and spacious walk in shower room and toilet. There is a kitchentte with a gas stove and fridge freezer. A comfortable living area with satellite TV and wifi. Those in the Cygnet have full access to the main house. Gas and electricity use is included in the quote. There is a 10% discount for those who wish to share the Cygnet.
Lion Lair
The quietest room of the house, Lion’s lair sits snuggly at the front of Swanage. This two-bed guest room benefits from a beautiful view of the morning sunrise. Female lodgers will be pleased to find a back-lit dressing table, in addition to ample storage space.
Leopard Loft
Cute, cozy, and comfortable: Leopard’s loft is the only single-person room on offer in the house.. Guests visiting over the December – February period should leave their alarm clocks at home, as the morning birdsong will act as a pleasant alternative.
Rhino Retreat
You’ll never awake an angry rhino in this room, when woken by the morning sun. As one of the larger rooms in our home, the retreat is bright & airy, with plenty of storage space for those staying for a longer period.
“Truly wonderful experience”
Words are simply useless when trying to convey the extent of the quaint perfection Swanage possesses. The brilliant white walls of this fortress of fun are the fond pillars of a truly wonderful experience.
Alan’s local knowledge (LK) helped us squeeze as much as possible out of the time we had here in South Africa. From life lessons on marriage to drunken nights sharing liquor, every moment was fun and filled with a warm generosity.
A strong bond was formed between everyone staying here and complete strangers quickly became the closest of friends, which seems to be the norm here.
If you want a place to really call your second home, to relax after a hard day being involved in some pretty hectic situations as well as somewhere to meet some incredibly fun yet interesting people – Swanage is the place, you’ll even get a bear hug thrown in when you arrive for free!
I’ve found a new home in an unlikely place, it will be very hard when the time comes to leave Swanage. Staying here was the best start to an unforgettable trip!
Cheers
